We strive to be a church that holds the love of Jesus and the sacredness of all people as our sole focus. We hope to honor the Image of God in you whether you join us for church in-person, online, or when we hang out outside of the church walls. As an inclusive faith community, we hope to be a safe place for you to receive and share love anytime and anywhere.

At Woven, you won't find much about dogmas, doctrines, theological agreements, or biblical mandates. We are united through love with no asterisks, timelines, or buts. We believe that God is so much better than what we've been led to believe about Them.

We welcome the entirety of humanity regardless of marital or economic status, race, age, creed, physical or developmental abilities, mental health, ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

We welcome the broken and the whole.

Those that are curious, full of doubt, and also those with answers.

Those that are tired who need rest and love on their journey.

Those with great joy and those who are in mourning.

May you become great recievers of the love of God, with us...

Together.

Woven is fully inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community, and are fully egalitarian. You are more than just welcomed to attend, we fully affirm and believe that you are a loved child of God, just as you are. All LGBTQIA+ individuals are celebrated and welcomed to church membership, volunteering, leadership, and marriage. The majority of our church founders are individuals who have been on the receiving end of discrimination either for being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community or for supporting it, as well as peoples who aren’t convinced of a higher power at all. One of our deepest held convictions is that ALL people are welcome to participate in our community whether or not they hold to any particular belief. While as a church we affirm orthodox Christian creeds, we believe that each individual deserves wiggle room and curiosity as a part of faith. We believe that the result of any exclusionary belief is harmful to the Body of Christ.

The Specifics

  • I believe in God,

    the Father almighty,

    Creator of heaven and earth,

    and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

    who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

    born of the Virgin Mary,

    suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, died and was buried;

    he descended into hell;

    on the third day he rose again from the dead;

    he ascended into heaven,

    and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

    from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit,

    the holy catholic Church,

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins,

    the resurrection of the body,

    and life everlasting.

    Amen.

  • God

    Jesus is the fullness of God. God is Parent, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is good. Good can only mean good. God loves all people, and delights in our receiving God’s love. Jesus is a with-us, Emmanuel God. God is a consenting God.

    Scripture

    The Bible is important.

    People

    ALL people are welcome at the table with Jesus. Sin is anything not done out of love, and not all sin is of equal consequence. Repentance to God and to others of our sin is vital for our and their healing. There is always grace for ignorance but rebuke for willful ignorance. Salvation isn’t simply a moment; it’s the continuation of that moment; it’s a life together. We continually give our life to Christ and continually receive his life from him. Doubt is a part of faith and that’s okay.

    Eternity

    (God is a consenting God) All people will forever have a choice to be in relationship with Christ.

    Earth

    God created nature for us to delight in and steward well.

    Church

    We are not a unique church, but part of a larger movement in Christendom that is progressive and also believes in the God of passionate love, exemplified by the first century Jewish Messiah and still living Jesus. The church should not operate out of obligation, shame, or guilt but out of receiving and handing what we have to those around us.

  • Baptism

    We believe baptism is an action a person can take that symbolizes their identification with Christ in a relationship of intimacy. We allow individuals and parents to make their own decisions on when and how a baptisms occurs.

    Eucharist

    As a church, we take together weekly of the Lord’s Supper. We take food and drink as symbolic of our oneness with Christ and our communion with each other. We have an open table communion.

  • Radical inclusivity

    All people are of equal value

    Diversity helps us know God more fully

    Intentional hospitality

    We want all people to feel seen, known, and loved

    Healthy vulnerability

    Assume generously and have the conversation (even with God)

    Transparency in finance and function

    Appropriate boundaries

    Ensuring boundaries aren’t breached

    Everyone needs and deserves rest

    Respectful confidentiality

    Your story is your story until you say otherwise

    Wholistic justice

    The needs of the minority are not subject to the preference of the majority

    Continual growth

    Growth will be a part of our DNA (and that is a good thing)

    As we unlock more answers, we unlock more questions.

    Doubt is a part of faith.
